UDENE Open Call 1 Deadline Extended to 31 August 2025

The UDENE project is pleased to announce that the deadline for Open Call 1 – UDENE Tools Integration in Geodata Science Education has been extended to 31 August 2025. This call provides an exciting opportunity for educators, trainers, and geodata professionals in Serbia, Tunisia, and Türkiye to receive funding for innovative educational initiatives.

About the Open Call

UDENE Open Call 1 invites proposals that integrate UDENE Exploration and Matchmaking Tools into geodata science education. Selected applicants will receive €10,000 to design and implement educational plans that enable students and trainees to learn applied geodata science through hands-on experiences.

Proposals should aim to:

  • Embed UDENE tools into course curricula or training modules
  • Demonstrate practical use of Earth Observation (EO) data and Copernicus services
  • Develop case studies that address urban challenges, such as:
    • Urban heat islands
    • Air quality and transport
    • Earthquake resilience

Purpose of the Call

The call supports the development of skilled geodata science practitioners in Copernicus International Partner countries. By using UDENE’s open-source tools as a practice platform, applicants will help build practical knowledge and strengthen the application of EO data in urban planning and resilience.

How to Apply

Applicants can find full guidelines, eligibility criteria, and submission instructions on the UDENE Open Calls page. Don’t miss this opportunity to bring cutting-edge geodata science tools into your educational programs.

The extended deadline ensures more educators and trainers have the chance to submit innovative proposals that harness the potential of UDENE tools in shaping the next generation of geodata professionals.

UDENE PROJECT

The UDENE Project aims to use large amounts of Earth Observation (EO) data from Copernicus satellites and local sources to support evidence-based decision making for urban development, especially in international partner countries. To support the UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 of making cities safe, resilient, and sustainable, the project will essentially create a virtual laboratory for urban planners and visionaries to test their development ideas.
