The UDENE Open Call #2 is now reopened until 31 October 2025, inviting applicants from Serbia and Tunisia to take part in a unique opportunity to explore new business collaborations that integrate Earth Observation (EO) data into market-ready solutions.
Through this call, UDENE aims to support local SMEs, start-ups, NGOs, research institutions, and individual innovators in developing business-oriented applications that use UDENE tools to address urban and environmental challenges. Selected participants will receive €10,000 in funding to test and validate their ideas during a two-month implementation period in November and December 2025.
The objective of this call is to build sustainable partnerships between European EO providers and local entities, demonstrating how satellite-based insights can create practical and commercially viable solutions for urban planning, environmental management, and sustainable development. Applicants are encouraged to propose ideas that showcase innovation, scalability, and real-world impact, while also contributing to capacity building and knowledge transfer within their local contexts.
Each winner will prepare a feasibility report outlining their proposed business case, including pilot implementations or proof-of-concept activities that demonstrate the commercial potential of integrating UDENE tools. This process offers not only financial support but also the opportunity to strengthen technical and business expertise in the growing Earth Observation market.
Applications are open to a wide range of participants based in Serbia and Tunisia — from small businesses and research groups to individual entrepreneurs — as long as the proposed work can be feasibly completed within the project’s timeframe and aligns with the functionalities of the UDENE tools.
The application process is simple and fully online — just a few steps to submit your idea! Those interested can find the application guidelines and submission details on the UDENE Open Calls page. The evaluation will follow a two-stage process assessing eligibility, feasibility, innovation, impact, and applicant expertise.
To gain further insight into how UDENE tools can be applied in practice, applicants are encouraged to watch the recordings of our case study webinars available on the UDENE YouTube channel. These sessions provide examples of how Earth Observation-based tools will be used to tackle issues such as heat mitigation, air quality improvement, and urban resilience.
The reopened call represents an excellent opportunity for Serbian and Tunisian innovators to connect with European partners, develop new business solutions, and contribute to the wider adoption of Copernicus-based applications.
Don’t miss your chance to participate – submit your proposal by 31 October 2025 and become part of the next wave of EO-driven innovation.
